Competitive Cheer Program

About Our Program

HF United competitive cheer is for girls and boys ages 7-14 (athletes age 14 must be in 8th grade). We bring the SPIRIT to our competitions. We REQUIRE for athletes to be registered in our sideline cheer program to participate in our competitive cheer program. All registered athletes may participate (no try-outs required).

For competitive cheer we are members of the American Youth Cheer League (AYC). There are three levels that are loosely based on age. All teams will be determined by our cheer directors at their discretion based on team makeup.

*Athletes must be age 7 prior to July 31st. Athletes age 14 must be in 8th grade during the season.

Registration Information

Registration Fees for Fall 2024 Competitive Season (opens January 15, 2024):

  • Regular Registration (ends May 31, 2024) - $450 with $50 deposit
  • Late Registration (ends July 31, 2024) - $475 with $100 deposit


(All deposits are non-refundable and no refunds will be granted after June 1, 2024)

Payment plans and multi-participant discounts are available. (10% off for each additional participant)

*Note: There is a 2% processing fee included at time of registration. There is also a credit/debit card processing fee if chosen as the payment method. There is an option for ACH payments to avoid the additional fee.

Registration fees include the following items:

  • competition uniform
  • competition bow
  • white cheer shoe
  • team shirt
  • VIP ID
  • stunt camp
  • 2 competitions with a potential of up to 4 competitions


**Travel will be required

Each athlete must attend an in-person sizing to get fitted for their uniform and shoes. All in person sizing dates and times will be listed in the calendar as well as communicated via email. If an athlete is not able to attend an in person sizing date a uniform that is available in the closest size will be provided.

Important Things to Know

Season Expectations:

  • Practices will be located either at Homewood-Flossmoor High School or Apollo Park depending on availability. Once weather gets colder cheer will move to an indoor facility. Indoor location to be determined at a later date. Practice Schedule will be provided at the start of season.
  • Practices are 4 days a week for the first 4 weeks of practice and then drop down to 3-4 days a week depending on your athlete's level.
  • Travel is required.
  • Local competitions may require travel up to an 90 minutes away.
  • Regional competitions are located out of state (location is not determined until closer to the season start). Parents are responsible for transportation and lodging costs. Team must qualify for this competition.
  • National competitions are located in Florida. Parents are responsible for transportation and lodging costs. National is a stay to play competition meaning each family will be required to stay at specific hotels listed for the competition. Information will provided once received from the league. Team must qualify for this competition.

Organization Requirements:

  • All athletes MUST submit a birth certificate by August 1st. An email will be received with a link to upload once your athlete is rostered.
  • All athletes MUST get a VIP ID
  • All athletes MUST complete all competition paperwork provided by the organization on time so teams can be certified for competitions.

Fall 2024 Competitive Season

Registration for Fall 2024 Season opens January 15, 2024 for returning athletes and January 31, 2024 for new athletes.
